This is a rare autographed March 16th, 1941 playbill from the Original Broadway production of the JAY GORNEY and HENRY MYERS musical revue "MEET THE PEOPLE" which played the Mansfield Theatre in New York City. (The production opened December 25th, 1940 and ran for 160 performances.) ..... The ensemble cast included a number of talented young people making their Broadway debuts including NANETTE FABRAY (then known as Nanette Fabares), JACK ALBERTSON and JACK GILFORD. Others in the cast included FAY McKENZIE, BARNEY PHILLIPS, MARION COLBY, PATRICIA BRILHANTE, BERYL CAREW, SUE ROBIN, MARIE DeFOREST, VIRGINIA BRYAN, PEGGY RYAN, EDDIE JOHNSON, TED ARKIN, JACK BOYLE, ANGUS HOPKINS, KENNETH PATTERSON, ROBERT DAVIS, MICHAEL DOYLE, DOROTHY ROBERTS, BOB NISENSON, BEVERLY WEAVER, ROBERT NASH, ELIZABETH TALBOT-MARTIN, JOSEPHINE DEL MAR and DOODLES WEAVER ..... DETAILS: The 24 page playbill measures 6 1/2" X 9" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, musical numbers and scenes, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) The covers are separated at the seam and detached from the remaining pages and there is moderate edge wear. Despite these flaws, this rare playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
