    The Mullard is similar to the exceptional Sovtek 12AX7LPS but the Mullard is selected from only the best of the lots and given the Mullard brand name.  Many consider it the best 12AX7 made.  The long plate design is popular with audiophiles because of its exceptional sound quality.  (Note:Like the LPS the filament is spiral wound within the tube.  It gives the impression they are not lit when they are working perfectly.)
