    This is a rare November 8th, 1941 broadside (single page playbill) from the out-of-town tryout of the EDWARD PERCY melodrama "PLAY WITH FIRE" at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut. (The production opened November 8th, 1941 at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, Connecticut and played engagements in several cities but closed on the road, failing to arrive in New York. The play was seen in London under the title "Beneath the Surface", starring Robert Morley.)

CREDITS: Book by EDWARD PERCY; Sets designed by RAYMOND SOVEY; Costumes designed by ERNEST SCHRAPPS; Produced and Directed by REGINALD DENHAM ..... DETAILS: The single page, two-sided playbill measures 5 5/8" X 12" inches, is printed on a newsprint stock and includes full production credits, cast list and synopsis of scenes, but no cast photos or bios ..... CONDITION: (Please Note!) There is paper loss at the top right, two tears on the left edge and a heavy fold across the middle. Despite these flaws, this rare playbill will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
